From the edge of mounting flange that would sit on the roof to the inner plate that you would see inside the trailer is approximately 1-1/2". With it sitting down a 1/4" lower than the ceiling the mounting flange for the trim piece would never be able to sit flush against the interior ceiling so you would need to install some sort of spacer.
